USDA will work with schools and communities to help improve meals so they are consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Improving the health and nutrition of children by providing nutritious meals in school, based on the latest science, is a top priority for the Obama Administration. The NSLP Compliance rule is an important component of First Lady Michelle Obamaís Letís Move! initiative to solve the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, and for the first time in 15 years, we are making critical investments that will upgrade the standards for school meals.
